This video shows how Tansy flowers (Phacelia Tanacetifolia) are very popular with the native bees. The bed has courgette and pumpkin plants on it and was constructed in early spring. Hence it is a no-dig bed. If you watch carefully, there are two bronze fennel plants which were planted to attract Ladybirds and Lacewing as they will keep down aphids and other pests. The Tansy loves no-dig beds as you would have seen on the Home Page.
You will get a better quality by clicking the little gear wheel on the bottom right of the video window and choose a bigger number for the “quality”. Get full screen clicking the little square next to the gear. This is the “brassica bed” which also contain non-brassica plants! Variety is good for the soil and reduces the need for crop rotation if no-dig is also practised.
